Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nick Cocoa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddie Brock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brock is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Abduction. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nick Cocoa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Eddie Brock! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Trevor Gratis and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cocoa ducks under a wild hook from Brock. Brock throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Brock fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Cocoa checks it well. Cocoa bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Brock misses with a head kick.

Brock dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Cocoa. That did some damage! Cocoa drives through with a takedown into guard. Cocoa prevents Brock from getting back to his feet. Cocoa drops back looking for a leg! Brock is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Brock manages to kick Cocoa off! Cocoa jumps back into Brock's guard. Cocoa passes Brock's left leg - he's now in half guard. Cocoa is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Cocoa is working for a submission of some sort.
Brock really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cocoa. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Cocoa is working for a kimura but Brock is defending it quite comfortably.

Cocoa is looking for a kimura but Brock is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Cocoa to get the leverage. Cocoa wants to work for an arm triangle but Brock is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Cocoa is breathing heavily. Brock pushes Cocoa off looking to stand but Cocoa dives back in and keeps control.

Cocoa thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Brock's head. Cocoa is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Brock is just riding it out for now. Cocoa eventually gives up the hold. Cocoa is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Brock has managed to free his arm - good work. Brock is trying to stand back up but Cocoa is controlling him

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Brock lands a head kick. Cocoa smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Brock misses with a few strikes there.
Brock goes for a high kick. It partially lands. A chopping leg kick lands by Brock. Cocoa slips a jab and a cross from Brock.
Cocoa shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Brock as he jumps to the side. A left and a right from Brock both land. Nice combination. Brock throws a nice outside leg kick. Brock connects with a right hand. Cocoa shakes it off. Cocoa has a takedown stuffed. Cocoa avoids the head kick by Brock.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Nick Cocoa will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Cocoa changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Brock tries to avoid it but Cocoa manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Brock to the ground. Brock escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Brock throws a leg kick which misses Cocoa's front leg but catches the back leg as Cocoa tries to avoid it. Brock scores with a head kick.

Eddie Brock is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Cocoa checks a leg kick nicely. Brock tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Cocoa misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nick Cocoa. That's going to take a lot out of him. Brock pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Cocoa shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Brock fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Cocoa fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Brock sprawls well initially but Cocoa persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Brock tries to kick Cocoa off but Cocoa keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Cocoa is looking for a kimura here.

Cocoa seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Brock has recovered full guard. Cocoa drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Cocoa jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Cocoa thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Brock is looking to stand up but Cocoa isn't so interested in that idea. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Brock is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Brock throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Cocoa. Brock throws a series of punches but Cocoa moves out of range. Brock will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Brock can't keep his opponent in guard - Cocoa advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Cocoa is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Brock defends it well. Cocoa is working for a kimura but Brock is defending it quite comfortably.

That was a close second round but I would say that Nick Cocoa will probably get the nod. That's time! Cocoa's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Cocoa looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Brock is fending him off so far but Cocoa persists. Nope, Brock circles away and we're back to standing. Cocoa looks to score with a jab to the body but Brock is just out of range. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Brock.
Brock's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Brock duly obliges. Brock throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Brock walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Cocoa checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Brock tries a head kick but it misses.
Cocoa fails with a takedown attempt. Brock throws a right and a left that both miss. Brock tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Cocoa was well out of range. Poor timing from Brock. No joy there for Brock, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Brock throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Brock throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Cocoa. Eddie Brock seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Brock throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Brock tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Cocoa closes this distance looking for a takedown but Brock circles away. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Cocoa. Cocoa is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Brock!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Cocoa gets in close and instigates a clinch. Brock tries to break the clinch but Cocoa is controlling the position. Cocoa tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Brock just stands there and leans against the cage. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Brock wants to break the clinch but can't.
Eddie Brock has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Nick Cocoa is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Brock breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Eddie Brock is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Brock misses with a head kick.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Cocoa moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
A combination from Brock does no damage. Cocoa thows a body shot but no joy.
