Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Chase (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Kawells (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chase's entrance music is Victory by Viking Quest. A fine choice. Anthony Kawells has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Johnny Chase's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johnny Chase! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anthony Kawells! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Chris Downing and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kawells tries for a takedown but Chase sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Kawells avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Kawells. Chase is trying to control Kawells's posture but Kawells avoids it. Chase throws Kawells to one side and escapes! Kawells fails with the takedown. Chase shoots in but Kawells avoids the takedown attempt easily. Chase tries to clinch but Kawells moves out of range. Kawells fails with the takedown and Chase counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Johnny Chase has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anthony Kawells. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Chase trying to control but Kawells is working from the bottom. Chase postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Kawells manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Johnny Chase seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Chase wants to clinch up but Kawells keeps it at a distance. Chase moves into the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kawells successfully pulls guard.
Kawells looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Kawells is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Kawells looks gassed! Kawells is trying to keep Chase in close.
Chase postures up and lands a big shot to Kawells's brow. Chase works over Kawells with some ground and pound from guard. Kawells wants to sweep here but Chase controlling him for the moment.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Chase throws a leg kick that misses. Chase swats away the attempt to clinch by Kawells. Kawells shoots for a double leg takedown but Chase sprawls well. He's pushed Kawells's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Kawells shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Chase as he avoids it easily. Chase misses with a jab, cross combination.
Chase lunges at Kawells with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Kawells's hand. Chase shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Chase is trying to control the action in half guard but Kawells is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Kawells wants to control but Chase is keeping busy.
Chase missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kawells controlling the position for now. Kawells trying to control from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chase wants to take a breather but Kawells is having none of it. Kawells looks like he's trying to stand up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Chase shoots for a takedown but Kawells saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Kawells feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Chase throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Chase wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Kawells is stalling in the full guard. Chase trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Kawells controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kawells is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Kawells wants to control from the top but Chase keeps moving. Kawells must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Kawells really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Chase. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Kawells slips nicely into half guard. Chase looking for submissions off his back. Chase is staying active underneath Kawells, who seems content to just control the action from this position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Chase misses with some strikes from the bottom.

Johnny Chase dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Kawells lands with a nice combination. Chase backs away looking to recover. Chase will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Kawells gets in close and instigates a clinch. Kawells gets control of Chase's arms and successfully pulls guard. Kawells will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Chase in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Chase content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Chase throwing strikes from guard but Kawells blocks nicely. Kawells is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Chase is controlling him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Kawells controls Chase momentarily but Chase frees himself. Chase prevents Kawells from getting back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chase loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Kawells drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Chase tries to strike from the bottom.
Kawells gets to his feet - Chase follows without any prompting. Kawells tries to clinch up and Chase counters with a nice uppercut. Kawells shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Chase pinned against the cage. Chase gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Chase stuffs the takedown. Kawells fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Johnny Chase has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anthony Kawells. Chase looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kawells is fending him off so far but Chase persists. Nope, Kawells circles away and we're back to standing. Kawells clinches with his opponent.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Kawells has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Chase uses from the top position. Chase prevents Kawells from getting back to his feet. Kawells trying to control the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Kawells looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Chase!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kawells controlling the pace for now. Kawells tries to control but Chase wriggling away. Kawells is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Anthony Kawells has got the better of the ground game so far. Kawells controlling the position easily from mount. Chase gets back to half guard. Kawells is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Chase is not content to let Kawells control the position. Kawells scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Kawells uses his free foot to push down on Chase's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Chase. Chase throwing hammer fists to the chest of Kawells. What's that going to do exactly? Chase is squirming around, avoiding Kawells's attempts to control the action. Chase trying desperately to get to his feet.
Chase flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Kawells looking to control but Chase is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Anthony Kawells showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Chase tries to close the distance and clinch but Kawells swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Kawells moves into the clinch. Kawells goes for a takedown in the clinch but Chase prevents it.
Kawells misses with a short punch on the inside. Kawells jumps into guard, dragging Chase to the mat.
Kawells is looking to stand up but Chase isn't so interested in that idea. Kawells trying to control the position.
Kawells has momentary wrist control but Chase slips an elbow through the middle. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kawells is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Chase is controlling him. Chase sitting in guard here, content to control. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kawells pulls Chase in close to his closed guard and prevents Chase from doing any damage or advancing position. Chase distracts Kawells with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Kawells controlling the position. Chase prevents Kawells from getting back to his feet. Chase scoring with some ground and pound. Chase stops Kawells from standing up. Chase with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Kawells pushes Chase off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Kawells is looking to clinch. Kawells fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kawells throws a series of punches but Chase moves out of range. Kawells avoids the body shot from Chase.
Kawells fails with the takedown. Johnny Chase has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anthony Kawells. No luck for Chase with that takedown attempt. Chase is looking to clinch. Chase closes the distance but Kawells moves to the side and Kawells counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Chase shoots in and drives through. Kawells sprawls well. Chase darts in and clinches Kawells up against the cage. Kawells manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Chase postures up.
Chase is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Chase trying to control but Kawells is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chase is fighting to break Kawells's control of his arms but Kawells is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Chase sitting in guard here, content to control. Chase postures up.

Kawells gets slowly back to his feet. Kawells will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Kawells shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Chase swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Chase is squirming around, avoiding Kawells's attempts to control the action. Chase flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Chase is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Kawells trying to control but Chase is having none of it. Chase regains half guard. Kawells tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Kawells content to control rather than advance. Kawells seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
And that's the end of the fight! Anthony Kawells comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Kawells has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
