Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Colin Penn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Chris Akabusi! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Glass and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Penn defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Akabusi. Penn clinches up against the cage. Penn misses with a body punch.
Penn lands a right hand that snaps the head of Akabusi backwards. Penn breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Akabusi keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Penn gets caught napping as Akabusi dives in and scores a takedown. Penn manages to retain guard. The fighters are working up against the cage. Penn manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. Penn tries to throw a body punch but Akabusi avoids it by throwing Penn back against the cage. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Akabusi tries to pull guard but Penn holds him up against the cage and eventually Akabusi drops back down to his feet.
Penn lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Akabusi backwards. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Penn creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Penn stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Akabusi is trying to pull guard but Penn has him pressed against the cage. Colin Penn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Akabusi.
That's one minute gone in the round. Akabusi drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Penn gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Akabusi wants to break free but Penn has control.
Akabusi fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Penn misses with a punch to the body.
Penn lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Akabusi backwards. Penn pulls guard successfully.
Penn looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Akabusi is defending well. Penn quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Akabusi has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Penn celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
