Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dmitri Zaitsev (ranked 1781 p4p, 1940 weight class) and Ricky Rawse (ranked 80 p4p, 87 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 24 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dmitri Zaitsev! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 9 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ricky Rawse! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Paul Tew and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zaitsev with a lazy takedown attempt and Rawse counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Zaitsev uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Rawse. A head kick misses from Zaitsev. Zaitsev showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Rawse.
Rawse lands with a cross. Zaitsev is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Rawse. Rawse swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Rawse misses the jab. Zaitsev is looking to counter punch. Rawse thows a left - swing and a miss! We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Rawse has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Zaitsev wants to clinch but Rawse slips to the side and Rawse connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Zaitsev moves forwards but Rawse connects with a nice, crisp jab. Zaitsev scores with a jab. Rawse acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Zaitsev with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Rawse to score with a decent uppercut. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Rawse feints a jab promting Zaitsev to slip. Rawse then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Zaitsev slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Rawse drops Zaitsev with a left right combo! Rawse follows him down to the ground into side control.
Zaitsev is rocked! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rawse cracks Zaitsev with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Rawse immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Zaitsev is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Rawse!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ricky Rawse! Ricky Rawse decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
