Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wayne Carter (ranked 6237 p4p, 7804 weight class) and Mathew Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mathew Anderson is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Anderson is trying to shake Carter off. He's managed it and has hopped back to his feet! Carter won't be happy about giving up the dominant position.

Anderson gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Carter to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Anderson has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Carter has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
We've been hearing reports that Carter has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Carter wants the takedown. Anderson is fighting it off but Carter persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Anderson's guard against the cage.

Carter got a little sloppy there for a moment and Anderson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Carter has managed to get both his arms back between Anderson's legs - danger averted.

Carter drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Carter jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Carter has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Carter seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Carter is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Carter looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Anderson wants to sweep but Carter has passed to side control!
Carter works to advance to full mount. Anderson defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Carter changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Anderson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Anderson sneaks out the side door and pushes Carter away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Anderson should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Carter connects with a nice short shot to Anderson's temple.

Anderson is not content to let Carter control the position.
Carter winds up and cracks Anderson with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Carter uses his free foot to push down on Anderson's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Anderson.

Carter decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Carter decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Anderson, up you get!
Anderson lands a head kick. Carter smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Carter is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Anderson can do to turn this around?

Carter shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Anderson napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Anderson takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Carter is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Anderson has escaped the position, nice work there.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Carter, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
