The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice leg kick lands there from Bard.

Bard catches Hugo with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Hugo shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Hugo closes the distance and clinches up with Bard, looking for a takedown. Hugo pushes Bard against the cage but Bard circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Fet Bard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Bard pushes Hugo away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Hugo gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Bard is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Bard gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Bard gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Bard apologises and we restart here on the feet.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Bard thows a body kick. Hugo tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Hugo has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Bard finds it's way round the side to connect with Hugo's head.

Hugo will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Fet Bard is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Bard bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Hugo's head backwards.
Bard gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Hugo jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Bard walks away with a smile on his face. Hugo gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Hugo stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Bard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
