Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Petr Yan (ranked 25699 p4p, 25702 weight class) and Sam Drnold (ranked 625 p4p, 655 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Yan takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Yan tries to score a power double leg takedown but Drnold sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Yan somewhat.
Drnold tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Yan was well out of range. Poor timing from Drnold.
Drnold fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Yan looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

and Drnold counters with a shoot takedown. Yan fights it but they end up in guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Yan has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Drnold gets to his feet and stands over Yan, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Yan felt that one! Drnold unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Yan from any more punishment!
