Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Christian Kronecker (ranked 4917 p4p, 5052 weight class) and Carson Wood (ranked 574 p4p, 584 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Carson Wood!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Santiago Holmes and Daniel Franklin.

Kronecker keeps the fight on the outside.
No luck for Wood with that takedown attempt.

Kronecker is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Wood's half guard.
Wood is looking to improve his position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kronecker seems to be working for a kimura but Wood defends the submission attempt.

Wood tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kronecker wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Kronecker content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Kronecker is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Wood knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Wood is looking for a sweep.
Wood keeps trying to improve his position.
Wood is trying to escape the position but Kronecker is controlling the position.
Wood looks to move to half guard but instead Kronecker has passed into mount! Damn!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wood really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kronecker. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kronecker cracks Wood with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Wood from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.

Wood has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kronecker is working away from the top position though.

Kronecker is looking for a kimura but Wood is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Kronecker to get the leverage.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Kronecker seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Wood for as long as he can get away with.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Wood tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kronecker swivels and escapes.

Kronecker decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Wood gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Kronecker to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Kronecker seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Wood displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Wood throws a head kick but Kronecker moves out of range.
Wood shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kronecker defends it nicely.
Wood wants to clinch up but Kronecker keeps it at a distance.
Kronecker fires out a quick counter leg kick but Wood just manages to avoid it.
Wood closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kronecker circles away.
A head kick misses from Wood.

Wood tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Kronecker defends well and Wood ends up having to push Kronecker into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Kronecker wants to get up but he can't break Wood's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Kronecker slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Wood has momentary wrist control but Kronecker slips an elbow through the middle.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Kronecker not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.
Wood tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Kronecker leaves Wood with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Wood is trying hard to land a takedown here. Kronecker sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Kronecker clinches up against the cage.
Kronecker lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Wood backwards.
Wood is trying to drag Kronecker to the mat but Kronecker just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Wood has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Wood is trying to push Kronecker away but Kronecker has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Kronecker keeps control of Wood as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Kronecker has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Wood avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Kronecker is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Wood can do to turn this around?

Wood takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Wood is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The fighters are battling for position here. Kronecker manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Wood throwing strikes but missing.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
