Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Nolan (ranked 617 p4p, 1769 weight class) and Anton Gardner (ranked 75 p4p, 202 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 9 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jon Nolan! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anton Gardner! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Daniel Blasius and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gardner throws a combination that misses and Nolan counters with a lovely straight right hand!
It looks like Anton Gardner has been cut. Nolan ducks under a wild hook from Gardner. Nolan throws a series of punches but Gardner avoids them all with ease. Gardner lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Nolan circles away quickly and effectively. Nolan misses with an uppercut. Gardner saw that one coming. Gardner tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Nolan keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Gardner. Gardner throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Gardner throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Nolan counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Anton Gardner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nolan throws a jab but it's blocked by Gardner. Nolan misses with a body shot.
Gardner throws out a powerful jab. Gardner scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Gardner feints a jab promting Nolan to slip. Gardner then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Nolan slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
It looks like Jon Nolan has been cut. Gardner moves away from the strike by Nolan. A looping hook to the body misses from Gardner. Nolan does a little dance to reset his feet. It looked like Nolan wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gardner cracks Nolan with an open hand slap. Gardner jabs at Nolan's body. Gardner misses with a hook
and Nolan counters with a stiff right hand. Gardner throws a body punch but Nolan moves out of range. Gardner misses with a hook
and Nolan counters with a crisp right hand that drops Gardner! Nolan lets Gardner back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Gardner is rocked! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Gardner looks to throw the jab but Nolan is out of range. Gardner is still on wobbly legs! Can Nolan finish him? Gardner comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Gardner misses the shot to the body. Gardner seems to have recovered his senses. A jab from Gardner misses. Gardner lands a left and a right that send Nolan crashing to the mat, dazed. Gardner thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet! Gardner jabs at Nolan's body. Gardner slips under a jab from Nolan. Gardner fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Nolan is breathing heavily. Gardner fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Nolan looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nolan has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Nolan there as he acknowledges the shot. Gardner uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Nolan. Gardner lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Nolan circles away quickly and effectively. Gardner connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Gardner ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Nolan throws a right and a left that Gardner avoids nicely. Gardner looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. A jab from Gardner misses. Gardner listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Gardner connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Nolan's hands. Nolan slips under a jab. Nolan keeps the fight on the outside. Gardner scores with a jab to the head.
Nolan needs to keep his hands up - Gardner had a free shot at his head there. Gardner fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Nolan manages to avoid it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gardner sends Nolan crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Gardner is motioning to the referee to let Nolan up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Nolan is rocked! Gardner cracks a nice hook into Nolan's ribs. Gardner lands with a nice body punch. Gardner bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Nolan steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Gardner. Nolan swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. A slow jab from Nolan misses its intended target. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Gardner slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Nolan showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Gardner.
Gardner avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Gardner throws a right hand that misses
enabling Nolan to counter with a crisp jab. Gardner swings and misses with a shot to the body and Nolan cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Nice defenses there by Nolan. Nolan stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Nolan wants it to stay on the feet. Nolan throwing a counter right hand but Gardner manages to avoid it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gardner tries to close the distance and clinch but Nolan swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Nolan swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Gardner thows a left - swing and a miss! Nolan moves forwards but Gardner connects with a nice, crisp jab. Nolan throws a combination. Gardner tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Gardner falls off balance throwing a combination
and Nolan counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Gardner thinking. Gardner rushes Nolan and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Gardner misses with some punches.
Gardner misses with a shot to the kidneys.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Gardner has Nolan pressed against the cage, preventing Nolan from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Nolan is trying to break the clinch but Gardner has him pressed against the cage. Gardner lands a shoulder strike. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Anton Gardner dominated that round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Gardner misses the jab. We've been informed that Gardner has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Gardner uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Gardner wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Gardner throws a body punch but Nolan moves out of range. Gardner misses with a jab, cross combination.
Nolan is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Nolan defending well as Gardner loads up on a big left hand. Gardner is motioning to the referee to let Nolan up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet! Oh Nolan is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! This has been an exciting period of action! Gardner misses with a hook. Nolan ducked under it nicely. A little feinted left hand from Nolan on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Gardner lands a big right hand that sends Nolan crashing to the mat! Gardner stays standing though and waves Nolan back to his feet! Gardner thuds a left hand into Nolan's body. Gardner throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Nolan sees it coming and avoids it easily. Gardner drops Nolan with a huge uppercut! Nolan drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Gardner is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Anton Gardner! Anton Gardner is the new heavyweight champion! An out of breath Anton Gardner thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
