Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Villarreal (ranked 2171 p4p, 1790 weight class) and Edgar Bravo (ranked 232 p4p, 225 weight class). Villarreal's entrance music is Tupac- I’m a Soldier. A fine choice. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Carlos Villarreal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Edgar Bravo!

Bravo is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Villarreal is just riding it out for now. Bravo eventually gives up the hold.

Villarreal fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Bravo has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Villarreal pushes Bravo away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Bravo gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Villarreal is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Yellow Lotus Center of Healing and Meditative Arts that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Bravo is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Villarreal still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Villarreal has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Carlos Villarreal.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Villarreal, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
