Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vlad Melehsko!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Aleksandr Martynov and Igor Prikhodko.

Melehsko shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Kozlov is trying to defend but Melehsko finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Kozlov won't allow Melehsko to pass to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kozlov wants to improve his position but Melehsko is controlling well.
Kozlov is trying to maintain the position but Melehsko is very close to passing his half guard.

Kozlov really is a fat lump.

Melehsko is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Kozlov is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Melehsko sees it coming and defends easily.
Melehsko is looking to escape.

Kozlov is just content to waste time from the top position. Melehsko takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Kozlov wants to control from the top but Melehsko keeps moving.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Melehsko can do anything to dispel that myth.
Kozlov wants to pass to mount but Melehsko is defending the position.
Melehsko is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Melehsko wants to sweep but Kozlov has passed to side control!

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Melehsko connects with a nice short shot to Kozlov's temple.

Kozlov manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Melehsko manages to get himself to full guard.


Melehsko is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Kozlov passes Melehsko's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Melehsko looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Kozlov wants to lay and pray for a moment but Melehsko keeps working.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kozlov moves into full mount! Melehsko won't be happy about that!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Vasiliy Kozlov will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Kozlov has closed the distance and engaged Melehsko in a clinch.

Kozlov jumps guard.
Melehsko really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kozlov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Melehsko has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Kozlov to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Melehsko is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Kozlov pulls down on the head and he's put Melehsko to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Vasiliy Kozlov!
