Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Wesley Poker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Georges St Pierre! The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Winston Howard and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Poker ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Poker throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
St Pierre slips a jab and a cross from Poker.
A nice leg kick lands there from Poker. The crowd cheers as Poker lands an impressive looking overhand right. St Pierre doesn't seem phased though. St Pierre misses the shot to the body. St Pierre on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Poker lands a left and a right that send St Pierre crashing to the mat, dazed. Poker thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
St Pierre is rocked! Wesley Poker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Poker throws a combination but it was largely blocked by St Pierre. St Pierre is still on wobbly legs! Can Poker finish him? St Pierre takes a body punch but keeps moving. A combination from Poker does no damage. St Pierre seems to have recovered his senses. Poker fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with St Pierre, pushing him back against the cage. St Pierre dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. St Pierre's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Wesley Poker is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Poker catches St Pierre with a right, a left, a right. It's raining punches and St Pierre forgot an umbrella! Another punch and he's down. This one is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Wesley Poker! As Wesley Poker got his breath back, he grabbed the microphone and managed to blurt out the following: After this win I think i've proven I'm one of the top fighters in the division, I want the Hax Molloway fight back, and after I redeem that loss, I'm coming for that belt! '.
