Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Corwyn Potts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nate Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Potts might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Mama Said Knock you Out. Nate Diaz acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Corwyn Potts!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nate Diaz!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Frank Dennis and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Diaz.
Diaz shoots in for a double leg but Potts sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Potts throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Diaz drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Potts wants to get back to his feet but Diaz passes into half guard.

Diaz seems to be working for a kimura but Potts defends the submission attempt.

Diaz seems to be looking for submissions.

Potts pushes Diaz off and gets back to his feet.

A slapping leg kick lands for Potts.
Diaz takes a head kick and shrugs it off.


It looks like Nate Diaz has been cut.
Potts throws a right and a left that both miss.
Potts lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Diaz circles away quickly and effectively.
Diaz fails to land the takedown.
Corwyn Potts has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nate Diaz.
Potts ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Diaz moves away.
Diaz looks for a takedown but Potts sprawls well.

Diaz steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Potts. That one must have hurt.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Potts feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Diaz's calf.
Potts goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Potts tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Diaz paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Potts scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Potts turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Potts wants to stand and escape but Diaz is having none of it.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

and Potts counters with a leg kick.
Potts keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Potts throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Potts chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Good leg kick by Potts there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Potts tries to clinch up.

Potts lands with a kick to the temple. Diaz shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Potts tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Diaz doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Potts makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Diaz has his takedown stuffed
and Potts counters with a straight right hand.
Corwyn Potts has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nate Diaz.

Diaz takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Potts misses with a double jab.
Diaz's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Diaz gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Potts counters with a nice leg kick.
Potts jabs Diaz right on the nose. Diaz blinks but takes it well.
Diaz on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Diaz gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Potts throws a head kick but Diaz moves out of range.
Potts throws a series of punches but Diaz avoids them all with ease.
Diaz gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Potts counters with a good low kick that Diaz was not able to check.
Diaz takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Potts gets caught flat footed, as Diaz shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Diaz wants to control from the top but Potts keeps moving.
Potts is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Potts wriggles free and stands up.
Potts lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Diaz misses with a takedown attempt
and Potts counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Potts's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Potts duly obliges.
Diaz tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Potts throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Diaz stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Potts lands with a kick to the temple. Diaz shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Potts goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Potts throws a head kick but Diaz moves out of range.
Potts lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Corwyn Potts is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Diaz closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Potts to the mat! Potts manages to get full guard.
Potts wants to get back to his feet but Diaz is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Potts pushes Diaz off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Potts lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Diaz misses with a takedown attempt
and Potts counters with a head kick. That will keep Diaz thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Potts throws a leg kick which misses Diaz's front leg but catches the back leg as Diaz tries to avoid it.

Potts rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Diaz moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Potts feints and then cracks Diaz's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Diaz down.
Potts is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Diaz can do to turn this around?
Potts lands a head kick!
Diaz walks forward, straight into a front kick from Potts.
Corwyn Potts is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Diaz has his takedown stuffed
and Potts counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

And that's the end of the fight!
Corwyn Potts showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Potts, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
