Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sam Rinaldi (ranked 1543 p4p, 132 weight class) and Johnny Bronco (ranked 208 p4p, 19 weight class). Bronco has chosen The Horses - Daryl Braithwaite as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 15 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Sam Rinaldi! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 18 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Johnny Bronco! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Fedor Mirinova and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rinaldi shoots in for a takedown but Bronco shows good takedown defense. A left lands for Bronco. Rinaldi pushes Bronco up against the cage in a clinch. Bronco lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. A hook to the body from Bronco.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Bronco has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Rinaldi has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Bronco regains guard immediately. Bronco controls Rinaldi momentarily but Rinaldi frees himself. Rinaldi has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Rinaldi works his way back into a safe position though. Bronco throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Rinaldi escapes and throws Bronco's legs to the side, diving into side control! Bronco takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Rinaldi working the ground and pound. Bronco tries to improve position but can't. Rinaldi working the ground and pound from side control. Bronco manages to work his way to half guard, despite Rinaldi's best efforts. The fighters are battling for position here. Bronco manages to regain full guard. Nice work. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bronco isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Rinaldi stacks Bronco on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Rinaldi! You can see the frustration on Bronco's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Rinaldi shoots in but no luck this time. Bronco waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Rinaldi. Bronco displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Rinaldi. Rinaldi takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Rinaldi is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Bronco can do to turn this around? Bronco works Rinaldi's body with a nice hook. Bronco clinches. Bronco lands a hook to the side of the head. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Rinaldi. Bronco misses with a body punch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rinaldi tries to break free but Bronco pushes him back against the cage. Good body shot from Bronco.
Bronco is leaning against Rinaldi and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Bronco gets through Rinaldi's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Rinaldi goes for a takedown attempt but Bronco pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sam Rinaldi. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bronco stuffs the takedown. Rinaldi looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Bronco lands with a nice body punch. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Bronco seems to be working for a kimura but Rinaldi defends the submission attempt. Bronco is looking to advance position but Rinaldi won't allow it. Rinaldi can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Bronco controls the pace. Bronco trying to control the position from guard on top but Rinaldi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Bronco sitting in guard, not really doing much. Rinaldi wants to sweep here but Bronco controlling him for the moment. Bronco trying to control but Rinaldi is working from the bottom. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Rinaldi slips under a jab from Bronco. Bronco fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Rinaldi, pushing him back against the cage. Rinaldi wants to get back to striking at distance but Bronco won't allow it.

Bronco sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Bronco looking to control but Rinaldi is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Rinaldi is bucking up trying to escape but Bronco cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Bronco looking to control and managing it successfully. Rinaldi wants to control but Bronco is having none of it. Bronco fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Bronco seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Rinaldi has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Bronco is trying to get back to half guard. Bronco has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Bronco is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Rinaldi off and has taken his back! Bronco is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Rinaldi knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Rinaldi for a finish. Rinaldi shoots in for a double leg but Bronco sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Rinaldi takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Rinaldi misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Bronco.
