Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Omar Plato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lex Lewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Plato comes to the cage accompanied by Poker Face. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Omar Plato!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lex Lewis!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Daniel Cesar and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Plato misses with a few strikes there.
Plato misses with a jab, cross combination.

Plato closes the distance and clinches.

Lewis has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Plato uses from the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lewis bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Plato's guard.
Lewis trying to control the position from guard on top but Plato is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Plato knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lewis on the ground.

Lewis drops back looking for a leg! Plato is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Plato manages to kick Lewis off! Lewis jumps back into Plato's guard.
Plato looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Lewis is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Lewis is on the wrong end of a couple of strikes there.

Lewis drops back looking for a leg! Plato is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Plato manages to kick Lewis off! Lewis jumps back into Plato's guard.
Plato wants to stand up but Lewis is controlling him.

Lewis trying to control the position from guard on top but Plato is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Lewis throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Plato throws a series of punches but Lewis avoids them all with ease.
Plato misses with a series of wild punches.
Plato rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lewis moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Plato is looking to clinch but Lewis is avoiding it.
Lewis slips a jab and a cross from Plato.
Plato tries to clinch there but Lewis circles away.
Plato throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Plato throws a right hand that Lewis ducks under and follows up with a left that Lewis also avoids with ease.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Lewis shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Plato's guard.
Lewis lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Plato will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Lewis's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Lewis drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Lewis jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Lewis looks gassed!
Plato is looking to stand up but Lewis isn't so interested in that idea.
Plato keeping moving, preventing Lewis from controlling successfully.
Lewis is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Lewis drops back looking for a leg! Plato is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Plato manages to kick Lewis off! Lewis jumps back into Plato's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Plato wants to stand up but Lewis is controlling him.
Lewis throws a big right hand that misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Some wild striking there from Plato.
Plato misses with a two punch combination.
Plato tries to clinch up but Lewis circles away and keeps his distance.
Plato fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Lewis moves away from the strike by Plato.
Plato will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Plato throws a series of punches but Lewis avoids them all with ease.
Plato gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Lewis counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Lewis is working for a kimura but Plato is defending it quite comfortably.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Plato won't allow Lewis to pass to mount.
Lewis is trying to control the action in half guard but Plato is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Lewis is trying to work for a kimura but Plato is defending well.
Plato looks like he's trying to stand up.

Lewis is looking for a kimura here.

Lewis is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Plato doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Lewis.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lex Lewis dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Lewis is rocked!
Plato misses with a two punch combination.
Plato lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Lewis is still on wobbly legs! Can Plato finish him?

Lewis has closed the distance and engaged Plato in a clinch.
Lewis seems to have recovered his senses.
Lewis prevents the takedown attempt.
Lewis jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Plato walks away with a smile on his face. Lewis gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Plato will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Plato really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Plato stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Good work by Lewis as he checks the leg kick.

Lewis closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Lewis has hold of Plato's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Plato seems comfortable defending it but Lewis has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Plato is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Plato is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Lewis couldn't care less - he's delighted!
