Coming up we have a heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Ryu Takemura (ranked 23782 p4p, 2535 weight class) and Toktogulovich Bakiyev (ranked 646 p4p, 276 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 24 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ryu Takemura! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 37 - 44 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Toktogulovich Bakiyev! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bakiyev jabbing away but nothing is landing. Bakiyev has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Takemura is landing a low percentage of strikes. Bakiyev takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Takemura slips a straight right by Bakiyev. Takemura was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Takemura stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Takemura throws the left hand but Bakiyev avoids the punch easily. A big right from Takemura misses. Nice shot lands for Takemura. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bakiyev wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Takemura goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Bakiyev looks to throw the jab but Takemura is out of range. Takemura pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Bakiyev back to the ropes. Takemura follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Takemura definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Toktogulovich Bakiyev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round. A swing and a miss from Bakiyev. Takemura misses with a few strikes there.
Bakiyev misses with a looping left. Takemura slips under a jab. Nice defenses there by Bakiyev. Bakiyev throws out a counter right but Takemura avoids it with no problem. Takemura misses with a series of wild punches.
Bakiyev looks to throw the jab but Takemura is out of range. Bakiyev thuds a left hand into Takemura's body. Bakiyev throws a poor cross that misses
and Takemura counters with a lovely shot to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Takemura will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Takemura thuds his right hand into Bakiyev's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Takemura scores with a crisp jab that stopped Bakiyev in his tracks. Takemura misses with a wild combination.
Takemura connects with a crisp jab. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ryu Takemura dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Takemura misses with a hook. Bakiyev ducked under it nicely. Ryu Takemura is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Bakiyev misses with a lunging right hand
letting Takemura counter with a right hand. Takemura paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. A looping hook to the body misses from Bakiyev. Takemura does a little dance to reset his feet. Bakiyev walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Nice defenses there by Takemura. It looked like Takemura wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Bakiyev throws an off balance right hand
and Takemura counters with a series of strikes. Bakiyev will be more careful next time no doubt.
Bakiyev is rocked! Takemura connects with a quick right hand that sends Bakiyev tumbling backwards onto the canvas! As his head bounces into the ropes, it doesn't look good for him beating the count! 3,4,5,6,7 and he's up! No, he's back down again! This one is all over - the referee has called off the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Ryu Takemura! Post fight, an emotional Ryu Takemura said 'I'd kill him if the referee let me..'.
