PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jethro Frind (ranked 4779 p4p, 5116 weight class) and Dwayne Jackson (ranked 457 p4p, 477 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Dwayne Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Daniel Bishop and Steven Brown.

Jackson tries to clinch up.
Jackson swats away the attempt to clinch by Frind.
Jackson is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Jackson scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Frind is looking to reverse the position.
Jackson has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Jackson is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Frind to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Frind shrugs it off.
Frind can't escape the position.
Frind is trying to stand up.

Frind trying desperately to get to his feet.
Frind on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Frind tries to get out of the position.

Jackson is working for a guillotine from mount but Frind frees his head quite easily.

Jackson stands up from mount. Strange move.
Jackson shoots in looking for a takedown but Frind manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jackson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Frind fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jackson, pushing him back against the cage.

Frind's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Frind bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Jackson's head backwards.

It looks like Dwayne Jackson has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Frind scores with a leg kick.
Frind throws a head kick that half lands.
Jackson takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Jackson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Frind is trying to defend but Jackson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Frind looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jackson is controlling the pace.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Let's hope that Jackson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Frind is looking to escape.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Frind looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Jackson seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Jackson darts in and clinches Frind up against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Frind throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Jackson dives in and grabs Frind's left leg, looking for a takedown. Frind pushes down on Jackson's head and hops out.
Frind scores with a head kick.
Frind connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Frind scores with a head kick. Jackson tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

Jackson pushes Frind up against the cage in a clinch.
Frind is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Frind stops a takedown attempt from Jackson.

Frind's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jackson blocks a head kick by Frind.
Jackson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Frind as he jumps to the side.
Jethro Frind has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dwayne Jackson.
Frind tries to clinch but Jackson is having none of it.
Frind smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jackson connects with a jab, followed by a picture perfect straight right that sends Frind to the canvas, out cold! What a finish by Jackson!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:09 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Dwayne Jackson!
