Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Principo Adam (ranked 3317 p4p, 4173 weight class) and John Carter (ranked 411 p4p, 480 weight class). Carter comes into a darkened arena with his song building. I'll Kill You Motherf*cker kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Principo Adam has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Adam misses with a lunging right hand

and Carter counters with a crisp one two that drops Adam! Carter thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Adam to his feet! Adam is in big trouble!
Carter misses with an uppercut. Adam saw that one coming.
Adam throws an overhand right that lands on Carter's shoulder, as Carter tries to avoid the shot.
Adam fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Carter avoids it really well and circles away.

Principo Adam seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Adam takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Adam slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Carter ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Carter looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
A slow jab from Carter misses its intended target.

Adam dives in for a single leg takedown but Carter sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Principo Adam. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Carter rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Adam moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

and Adam counters with a shoot takedown. Carter fights it but they end up in guard.
Carter is wriggling around but Adam manages to pass to half guard.

Adam seems to be working for a kimura but Carter defends the submission attempt.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Carter can do anything to dispel that myth.

Adam is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Carter is just riding it out for now. Adam eventually gives up the hold.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Adam is working for a kimura but Carter is defending it quite comfortably.
Carter is refusing to be controlled, as Adam sits in half guard.

Principo Adam decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
