Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Robert Leahy (ranked 1873 p4p, 4063 weight class) and Tim Shamrock (ranked 258 p4p, 481 weight class). Tim Shamrock has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Robert Leahy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tim Shamrock!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Dillan Fox and William Peck.

Leahy fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Shamrock avoids it really well and circles away.
Leahy shoots in for a double leg but Shamrock sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
It seemed like Shamrock was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Leahy shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Shamrock defends it nicely.

Leahy is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Shamrock pulls his head out easily.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Still in half guard, Shamrock seems content to control.

Leahy has his foot on Shamrock's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Shamrock works his way back into a safe position though.

Leahy is looking for a triangle but Shamrock pushes his legs off easily.

Leahy working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Shamrock doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Shamrock manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Leahy has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Shamrock can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Leahy can't keep his opponent in guard - Shamrock advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Shamrock looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Leahy with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Leahy wants to improve his position but Shamrock is controlling well.

Shamrock is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Shamrock works his foot free and advances to mount.
Leahy is in all sorts of trouble here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tim Shamrock dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Leahy throws a sloppy head kick and Shamrock moves out of range easily.
Shamrock slaps away a takedown attempt from Leahy, before circling back to the center of the mat.
A decent looking cross lands there for Shamrock.
Leahy darts in looking for a takedown but Shamrock gets double underhooks and turns Leahy into the cage.
Leahy changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Shamrock tries to avoid it but Leahy manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Shamrock to the ground. Shamrock escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Robert Leahy. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Leahy throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Shamrock's waist but Shamrock gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Leahy off to one side.

Oooooh!!! Shamrock has knocked Leahy down with a huge combo! Shamrock steps away and waves a wobbly Leahy back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Leahy is rocked!

It looks like Robert Leahy has been cut.

Shamrock closes the distance and clinches.
Oh Leahy is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Shamrock breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Shamrock lets his hands go wild with a nice combination. Left! Right! Uppercut! Spinning backfist! Leahy goes down and covers up as Shamrock starts wailing on him! The ref watches the action closely before stepping in and putting a stop to the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tim Shamrock!
