Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Ruas (ranked 702 p4p, 1034 weight class) and Aki Hiko (ranked 28 p4p, 51 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Carlos Ruas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 16 - 0, fighting out of New York, Aki Hiko!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and Stewart Dunkirk.

Hiko bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Ruas's head.
Ruas shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Hiko throws a combination that misses

and Ruas decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hiko's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ruas works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Ruas stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hiko swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Ruas has control of Hiko's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Hiko regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Hiko is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Ruas looks to land a right hand but Hiko moved out of range.
Hiko throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Hiko throws a jab but it's blocked by Ruas.
Hiko just misses with a punch to the body.
A telegraphed right hand from Ruas misses the target.
Hiko defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Ruas.
Ruas throws out a loose jab but Hiko uses good head movement to avoid it.
Hiko loads up on a big right hand but Ruas slips the punch.
Ruas scores with a crisp jab that stopped Hiko in his tracks.

It looks like Aki Hiko has been cut.
Hiko uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Ruas.
Ruas throws a hook to the side of Hiko's head but Hiko sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Hiko is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Ruas's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Ruas's back!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Carlos Ruas.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ruas, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
