Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between African King (ranked 25421 p4p, 7382 weight class) and Robinson David (ranked 709 p4p, 646 weight class). David is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Space Cowboy. King has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Robinson David looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
David tries to break free but King pushes him back against the cage.

David looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

King's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
David bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
David looks to land a body kick but King moved away.
King swats away the attempt to clinch by David.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that David has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

David will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

David throws a body shot but no joy.

David has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from King.
David blocks a head kick by King.
King misses with a hook. David ducked under it nicely.
King gets cracked there but stands up to it.

A momentary lapse in concentration from King enables David to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. King manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
King wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

David drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and David jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
King is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that David can do to turn this around?
King is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

King decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

King on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
David misses with a takedown attempt - King sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

and King counters with a single leg into guard. David didn't expect that.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

King has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

King missing with a left hand there. David was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
David goes for a double leg but King avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as King continues to drive forward.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
David drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
A punch lands to the side of David 's head but he takes it in his stride.

David shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as King sprawls well. King wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. David gets slowly back to his feet.

David drives through with a takedown into guard.

King pushes David off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Horrible takedown attempt by David or perhaps it was just good defense by King, which made it look bad.
King quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.

King displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from David.
It looked like King wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Despite the aggression on David's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

African King is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
David changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. King tries to avoid it but David manages to keep hold of a leg and drag King to the ground. King escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

David has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from King.

and King counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. David is lucky that one didn't land flush.

African King showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for King, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
