Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Alessio Da Santiago!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wesley Carter!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Trevor Gratis and Steve Smith.

Carter closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Carter thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Da Santiago's head.
Da Santiago is looking for a sweep. Carter is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Carter tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Da Santiago is trying to get back to full guard.
Carter is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Carter sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Da Santiago defending well though.
Da Santiago regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Carter.
Carter throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Da Santiago had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Carter defends it easily.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Carter accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Da Santiago has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Carter can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Da Santiago looking for a guillotine here but Carter defends easily.
Carter is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Da Santiago working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Carter doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Da Santiago is tightening it up a little... Carter has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Carter reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Carter taps out! Nice BJJ there by Da Santiago!
