0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Iye Zhiro! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zhiro needs to keep his hands up - Ice had a free shot at his head there. Zhiro shoots in for a double leg but Ice sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Zhiro scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Zhiro missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Ice is refusing to be controlled, as Zhiro sits in half guard. Zhiro wants to work for an arm triangle but Ice is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Ice is staying active underneath Zhiro, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Zhiro is trying to work for a kimura but Ice is defending well.
Ice keeping control of the position. Ice on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Ice tries to get out of the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Zhiro looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Zhiro wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ice keeps working. Zhiro wants to pass the guard but Ice is defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Ice is controlling Zhiro's position as best he can from this difficult position. Zhiro is keen to just control but Ice is a slippery customer. Ice is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Zhiro is working for a submission of some sort.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Zhiro looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Ice stuffs the takedown. Vanilla Ice has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Iye Zhiro. Ice closes the distance and lands a one-two. A shot to de liver by Ice. Beautiful body shot. Vanilla Ice is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Zhiro looks gassed! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Ice fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Zhiro manages to avoid it. Ice with a jab. Iye Zhiro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Zhiro on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Zhiro looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ice is fending him off so far but Zhiro persists. Nope, Ice circles away and we're back to standing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ice closes the distance and lands a crisp combination that knocks Zhiro out cold! Zhiro corner are devastated, head in hands behind our commentary position. Poor guys.
