Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gyukosho Fujimoto (ranked 120 p4p, 88 weight class) and Heavy Rain (ranked 21 p4p, 16 weight class). Rain is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by For Heavy Metal we will die!. Heavy Rain has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Gyukosho Fujimoto's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gyukosho Fujimoto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Heavy Rain!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rain sizes up Fujimoto with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Fujimoto has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Randall's Top Team in the buildup to the fight.
A jab lands there for Rain.
Rain throws a series of punches but Fujimoto moves out of range.
Fujimoto looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.
Fujimoto looks to land a right hand but Rain moved out of range.
Rain has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Fujimoto is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Rain misses with a series of wild punches.
Fujimoto is looking to counter punch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rain tries to land a front kick but Fujimoto steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Fujimoto swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Rain thuds his shin into the meat of Fujimoto's side.

Rain smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Rain feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Fujimoto sprawling to the canvas! Fujimoto rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Rain finish him?!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

and Fujimoto counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Rain lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Fujimoto throws a head kick but Rain moves out of range.
Fujimoto takes one to the chin there.
Rain throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Fujimoto on the side of the head.
Rain misses with the combination.
Fujimoto thinks about countering with a head kick.
Fujimoto drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Fujimoto dodges the punch combination from Rain.
As Rain looks to move away, Fujimoto throws a big counter combo but Rain just gets out of the way.

Rain lands a big head kick that sends Fujimoto tumbling to the mat! Rain takes a step backwards and waves Fujimoto back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Rain is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Fujimoto had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Rain swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Fujimoto throws a big counter combination but Rain scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Fujimoto fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rain manages to avoid it.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rain throws a low kick but it's checked well by Fujimoto.
Fujimoto wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Fujimoto throws a head kick that misses.
Good standup being displayed there by Rain as he connects with a hook.
Rain scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Fujimoto doesn't seem bothered though.
Rain just misses with a punch to the body.
Fujimoto throwing a counter right hand but Rain manages to avoid it.
Rain thuds his right hand into Fujimoto's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Heavy Rain dominated that round.
That's time! Fujimoto's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Rain fails to land with a series of punches.
Fujimoto is looking to counter punch.
A head kick misses from Rain.
An attempted straight right counter from Fujimoto misses the target.
This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Fujimoto might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.
Rain's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Rain duly obliges.
Rain looks to land a combination but Fujimoto avoids it well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rain is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Fujimoto.
Rain paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Fujimoto moves out of range of the strikes.

Rain throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Heavy Rain seems to be getting the better of the standup.
A swing and a miss from Rain.
Rain stuns Fujimoto with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Rain looks to throw the jab but Fujimoto is out of range.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Fujimoto crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Rain - the referee stops the clock and Fujimoto gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Rain. Fujimoto manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Rain has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

A combination from Rain does no damage.
Fujimoto is looking to counter punch.
Fujimoto misses with a straight left.
Fujimoto misses with a hook. Rain ducked under it nicely.
Rain pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
A little feinted left hand from Fujimoto on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
A right-left combo lands from Rain.
Rain has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Rain comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Rain throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Fujimoto swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

and Fujimoto connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

As Rain looks to move away, Fujimoto throws a big counter combo but Rain just gets out of the way.

Rain lands a really nice looking cross but Fujimoto seems unphased.
Fujimoto on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Fujimoto pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Rain is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Fujimoto will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Rain throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Fujimoto ducks right into an uppercut from Rain.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Heavy Rain showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Fujimoto is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Fujimoto tries a head kick but it misses.
Rain appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
A cross from Rain lands.
Are you kidding me?! Rain ducked down and unloaded an uppercut from hell that sent Fujimoto clean off his feet! Someone make me a GIF - that's knockout of the night for sure!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:32 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Heavy Rain!
Heavy Rain decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
