Coming up we have a middleweight kickboxing rules bout between Karl Denke (ranked 23986 p4p, 4593 weight class) and Weimin Liaw (ranked 729 p4p, 528 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Karl Denke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 13 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Weimin Liaw!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Shigeki Sano and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Denke misses with a low kick.
Denke scores with a body shot.
Denke lands with a shot to the body.
Denke jabbing away but nothing is landing.
A nice side step and Liaw releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Denke lands a head kick!
Liaw bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
The fighters circling - Denke throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Liaw now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Denke lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Liaw circles away quickly and effectively.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Denke misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Liaw.
An inside leg kick lands from Denke.
Liaw on the wrong end of a nice hook.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Denke misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Denke throws a lazy head kick

and Liaw counters with a really nice, stiff jab that drops Denke onto his ass. He'll have to take the mandatory count from the referee but he's back on his feet and he seems OK to continue.

It looks like Karl Denke has been cut.
Liaw blocks a leg kick.
Liaw dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Liaw loads up on a big right hand but Denke slips the punch.
Denke throwing a counter right hand but Liaw manages to avoid it.
Nice shot lands for Denke.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Liaw closes the distance and clinches.
Liaw is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Liaw manages to break the clinch.

Denke tries to keep at a distance but Liaw has taken the fight into the clinch.
Denke is trying to break free.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Denke can't break the clinch.
Denke tries to break free but Liaw pushes him back against the ropes.
Denke has had enough of the clinch but Liaw keeps him there for the moment.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Denke.
I was talking to Denke's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Denke wants to break the clinch but can't.
Liaw lands with a light punch inside.

Liaw pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Denke throws a predictable looking body shot

and Liaw counters with a perfectly timed counter left hook that drops Denke to the mat, face first! Liaw goes to the neutral corner and waits for the referee to start the count. Denke is back to hise feet already though and looking to continue the bout! Exciting stuff!
Denke swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
A shot to the body from Denke misses
and Liaw counters with a straight right hand.

Denke is rocked!
Denke swings for the body but Liaw moves out of range.
Denke walks straight into a perfectly timed right hook, crumpling him to the floor! Denke is in all kinds of trouble here - can he beat the count? 3,4,5,6,7,8,9....10 - he's out and it's by a long way too - he didn't ever look like beating that count!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Weimin Liaw!
During a confident post fight interview, Weimin Liaw thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
