Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Elgin Turner (ranked 18 p4p, 63 weight class) and Tapani Kansalainen (ranked 2 p4p, 6 weight class). Turner comes to the cage accompanied by Wu-Tang Clan - Da Mystery Of Chessboxin'. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 10 - 2, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tapani Kansalainen!

The fighters circling - Kansalainen throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Turner uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Turner lands with a hook. Kansalainen tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Turner lands a nice shot to the body.
Kansalainen throws a lazy right hand but Turner sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Turner gets a takedown into half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kansalainen tries to kick Turner off but Turner keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Kansalainen felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Well, if Turner is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Turner wants to take a breather but Kansalainen is having none of it.
Turner is looking to advance position but Kansalainen won't allow it.
Kansalainen is refusing to be controlled, as Turner sits in half guard.
Turner takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Turner looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Turner is trying to improve position by moving to mount. Kansalainen has hold of his neck though and manages to move into guard! All of a sudden, Turner is in a lot of trouble! Kansalainen is straining to finish and he's done it! Turner taps out! Amazing!

Tapani Kansalainen is the new lightweight champion!
Tapani Kansalainen decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
Elgin Turner spoke after the fight, saying 'Wu Tang fuh eva!'.
