Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mike Shaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Flens Mens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Shaw might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Good To Be Me. Flens Mens is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mike Shaw! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Flens Mens! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Yves DeLean and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mens steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Shaw. That one must have hurt. Shaw closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Mens to the mat! Mens manages to get full guard. Shaw thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Shaw controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Shaw trying to control the position from guard on top but Mens is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mens is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Shaw thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mens being controlled here, momentarily. Shaw stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mens swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Shaw wants to control from the top but Mens keeps moving. Mens really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shaw. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Shaw wants to get up but he can't break Mens's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Nice cross by Mens. Mens throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Shaw sees it coming and avoids it easily. Shaw lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Mens backs up against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shaw forces Mens back against the cage and clinches. Mens wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Shaw prevents Mens from breaking the clinch. Mens can't break the clinch.
Mens is looking to break free of the clinch but Shaw has double underhooks. Mens wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Shaw breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Mens lunges at Shaw with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Shaw's hand. No luck for Shaw with that takedown attempt. Shaw has closed the distance and engaged Mens in a clinch.
Shaw goes for a takedown attempt but Mens pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Shaw blocks a jab. Mens throws the left hand but Shaw avoids the punch easily. Flens Mens seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mens scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. A punch combination from Shaw misses. Shaw shoots in for a takedown but Mens shows good takedown defense. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mike Shaw. That's going to take a lot out of him. Shaw is breathing heavily. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Nice sprawl there from Mens as Shaw shoots in. Mens throws a hook but Shaw avoids it easily. Shaw moves out of range of the strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Shaw on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Shaw changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mens tries to avoid it but Shaw manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mens to the ground. Mens escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Shaw looks up at the clock. Bad move! Mens lands a right hand from hell, dropping Shaw. Mens pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Flens Mens!
