Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marky Mark (ranked 377 p4p, 101 weight class) and Tomomi Tsuruta (ranked 58 p4p, 18 weight class). Mark comes to the cage accompanied by Isä ei jätä. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 24 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Marky Mark! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 21 - 10 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tomomi Tsuruta! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No joy there for Tsuruta, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Mark defending well as Tsuruta loads up on a big left hand. Mark moves away from the strike by Tsuruta. Mark keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Tsuruta dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Tsuruta looks to land a right hand but Mark moved out of range. Tsuruta takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Tsuruta throws the left hand but Mark avoids the punch easily. Tsuruta loads up on a big right hand but Mark slips the punch. Good exchange - Tsuruta coming out on top. Tsuruta scores with the left hand. Mark knows he should have avoided that one. Mark looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Tsuruta tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Mark was well out of range. Poor timing from Tsuruta. Tsuruta is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Mark. Tsuruta walks forward, straight into a front kick from Mark. Tsuruta tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mark paws at him with a jab and circles away. Mark half committed to a counter leg kick. Tsuruta blocks a jab. A countering left hand to the body from Tsuruta misses. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mark tries to land a front kick but Tsuruta steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Mark really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mark connects with a right hand. Tsuruta shakes it off. Tsuruta checks a low kick from Mark. Tsuruta misses the shot to the body. Tsuruta scores with a body shot.

and Tsuruta cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Mark keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Mark doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Mark slips under a jab. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Tsuruta wants to clinch. It looked like Mark was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tsuruta looks to throw the jab but Mark is out of range. Tsuruta gets a clinch. Tsuruta tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Mark has a couple of punches blocked by Tsuruta.

Mark has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Tsuruta can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Tsuruta looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Tsuruta is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tsuruta works a leg free and moves into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Mark looking for subs from the bottom but Tsuruta mounts him! Mark is just holding on here. Tsuruta manages to take his back.
Tsuruta not allowing Mark to control his hands. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Tsuruta is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tomomi Tsuruta dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Mark shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Marky Mark has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Nice body kick there by Mark. Mark looks to score with a jab to the body but Tsuruta is just out of range. Mark fails to land with a series of punches.
Mark misses with a low kick. A looping hook to the body misses from Tsuruta. Mark does a little dance to reset his feet. Mark avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round. Tsuruta lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Mark breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Mark just misses with a punch to the body.
Mark throws the kick towards the body but Tsuruta avoids it. Mark scores with a hook to the body. Tsuruta takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Tsuruta throws out a loose jab but Mark uses good head movement to avoid it. Tsuruta works Mark's body with a nice hook. Tsuruta lands a nice looking body shot.

Tsuruta tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mark swats him away and circles back towards the center. Tsuruta wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Tsuruta swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Tsuruta misses with a wild body shot. Tsuruta throws a nice looking combination but Mark bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Tsuruta just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromMark. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Tsuruta cracks Mark with an open hand slap.

Tsuruta tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mark swats him away and circles back towards the center. Tsuruta looks to throw the jab but Mark is out of range. Tsuruta is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Mark! Mark is looking to improve his position but Tsuruta isn't that keen on the idea. Tsuruta content just to control the position here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tomomi Tsuruta showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round! Mark takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Tsuruta has Mark up against the cage in a clinch.

This has been an exciting period of action! Mark misses the jab. Mark connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Mark fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Tsuruta punishes Mark's body with a nice straight punch. Tsuruta pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Tsuruta moves into range and clinches up with Mark. Mark lands a left hand that snaps the head of Tsuruta backwards. Mark scores with an uppercut up the middle. Mark letting Tsuruta take a breather here. Mark's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Mark displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Tsuruta throws out the jab. Tsuruta lands with a nice body punch.

Mark tries to score with a low kick but Tsuruta moves his leg out of the way. Tsuruta let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Tomomi Tsuruta is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Mark gets tackled into the cage by Tsuruta. Tsuruta maintains the clinch. Mark tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Tsuruta just stands there and leans against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marky Mark. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tsuruta misses with a short punch on the inside. Mark lands with a left to the head. Mark misses with a punch on the inside.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Mark's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Mark ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. A shot to the liver by Tsuruta. Beautiful body shot. Tsuruta throws a body shot but no joy. A head kick misses from Mark. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Mark throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Tsuruta blocks a head kick by Mark.
Tsuruta uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Mark keeps the fight on the outside. Tsuruta takes a swing at Mark's ribcage but misses. Tsuruta tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Tsuruta digs a good hook to Mark's body.

And that's the end of the fight! Marky Mark showed his dominance in that final round. Well Tsuruta has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
