PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hector Sanchez (ranked 2445 p4p, 993 weight class) and Jonathan Archer (ranked 345 p4p, 151 weight class). Archer has chosen Wu Tang Clan - Method Man as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Hector Sanchez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jonathan Archer!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Andrew Berry and William Gold.

Nice defenses there by Sanchez.
Sanchez throws a poor cross that misses
and Archer counters with a leg kick.
Hector Sanchez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Archer cracks a nice hook into Sanchez's ribs.

We've been hearing reports that Sanchez has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Sanchez tries for a takedown but Archer sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Archer catches Sanchez with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Archer throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Sanchez tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Archer defends well and Sanchez ends up having to push Archer into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Sanchez takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Archer connects with a body shot that sends Sanchez's belly button to the back.

Sanchez gets caught flat footed, as Archer shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Archer stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sanchez swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Sanchez has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Archer can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Archer's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Archer takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Archer really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sanchez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Sanchez is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Archer looks to land a right hand but Sanchez moved out of range.
Archer defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Sanchez.
Sanchez shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Archer connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hector Sanchez. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Archer lands with an overhand left.

It looks like Hector Sanchez has been cut.
Sanchez tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Archer lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Sanchez at a distance.

Archer lands a big right hand that sends Sanchez crashing to the mat! Archer stays standing though and waves Sanchez back to his feet!

Sanchez is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sanchez misses the jab.
Oh Sanchez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Archer has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Archer jabs Sanchez to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Archer fakes the body blow, causing Sanchez to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Sanchez goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jonathan Archer!
Jonathan Archer seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
