Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mike Snot (ranked 2984 p4p, 4592 weight class) and Valery Bokov (ranked 350 p4p, 479 weight class). The key to victory for Mike Snot has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Snot! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Valery Bokov! The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Darius Henderson and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Snot throws an overhand right that lands on Bokov's shoulder, as Bokov tries to avoid the shot. Bokov walks into a straight right hand from Snot. Snot throws a jab but it's blocked by Bokov. Bokov cracks Snot with a right hand to the side of the head. Snot feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Bokovs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Snot fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Snot with a body punch. A glancing blow. Bokov uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Snot swings widly with a right hand
and Bokov counters with a stiff right hand. Snot missing with a left hand there. Bokov was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Snot gets caught napping as Bokov dives in and scores a takedown. Snot manages to retain guard. Bokov is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Snot can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Bokov controls the pace.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bokov prevents Snot from getting back to his feet. Bokov wants to pass the guard but Snot is keeping the position. Bokov looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Bokov tries to free his leg and advance position but Snot is retaining full guard. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Snot misses with a wild body shot. Nice jab there from Snot. Bokov swings and misses with a hook to the body.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Bokov has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Bokov slips a straight right by Snot. Snot on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Bokov scores with a decent looking hook. Snot throws a big shot that misses. Snot misses with an uppercut. Snot throws a looping overhand right but Bokov ducks down to avoid it. Snot ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bokov moves away. Bokov uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Snot. Bokov shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Snot can't keep his opponent in guard - Bokov advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Bokov sitting and controlling from the half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bokov is working for a submission of some sort.
Bokov wants to work for an arm triangle but Snot is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Bokov seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Snot does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Bokov wants to free his trapped foot but Snot is holding on for dear life with his legs. Bokov stalling. Bokov is trying to control. Snot wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Snot is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Dark Horse MMA (HBE), so we'll see if he gets out of it. Snot knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bokov on the ground.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Bokov is looking for a kimura here.
Bokov is keen to just control but Snot is a slippery customer. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Valery Bokov dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Snot lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Snot thows a left - swing and a miss! Snot jabbing away but nothing is landing. Mike Snot seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bokov takes a swing at Snot's ribcage but misses. Bokov on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
It looks like Valery Bokov has been cut. Bokov tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Snot paws at him with a jab and circles away. Bokov fails in his attempt to clinch. Snot looks to score with a jab to the body but Bokov is just out of range. Bokov bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Bokov trying to control the action but Snot is working from the bottom. Bokov controlling the position from side mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bokov is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Snot knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Bokov trying to control the position but Snot is working away.

You can see the frustration on Snot's face as Bokov controls the position. Bokov trying to control the action but Snot is working from the bottom. Bokov working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Possibly, maybe, no Bokov has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Bokov is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Snot is trying to escape and Bokov transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Snot is forced to tap! Nice work there by Bokov! Very nice indeed!
