PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Joe Biden (ranked 2265 p4p, 3282 weight class) and Ivan Wong (ranked 246 p4p, 339 weight class). Biden comes to the cage accompanied by Side to Side. Wong is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Death or Freedom. Ivan Wong told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling eachother endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive.
The fighters circling - Biden throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Biden cracks Wong with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Wong tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Wong shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Biden but Biden pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Joe Biden has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ivan Wong.

Biden feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Wong sprawling to the canvas! Wong rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Biden finish him?!
Biden definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Wong doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

and Biden counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Wong drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Biden lands a really nice looking cross but Wong seems unphased.
Wong shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Wong walks into a left hand.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Wong forces Biden back against the cage and clinches.
Biden lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Wong or not.

Biden is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Wong can do to turn this around?
Biden lands a body shot in the clinch.
Wong is breathing heavily.

Biden breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Joe Biden is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Wong takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Wong gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Biden.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Biden sends Wong crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Biden is motioning to the referee to let Wong up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

And Wong tries to counter it with a takedown but Biden pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Biden digs a good body shot into Wong's ribs.

Biden cracks Wong with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Wong looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Biden finish him?

Biden lunges in with a left hook that violently twists Wong head around and knocks him out cold! Biden hops onto the cage and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Joe Biden!
