Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Scott Summers (ranked 5130 p4p, 4317 weight class) and D B Cooper (ranked 551 p4p, 507 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Scott Summers! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, D B Cooper! The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Damien Edna and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cooper needs to keep his hands up - Summers had a free shot at his head there. Summers wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Cooper throws a hook to the side of Summers's head but Summers sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Cooper connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Summers throws a series of punches but Cooper moves out of range. Cooper misses with a wild combination.

Summers lands with a straight right. Cooper didn't see that one coming. Cooper missing with a left hand there. Summers was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Summers appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Summers lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cooper circles away quickly and effectively. Summers throws out a powerful jab. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Summers slips under a jab from Cooper. Cooper looks to land a body kick but Summers moved away. Cooper rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Summers moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Summers tries to counter with a takedown but Cooper is quick to defend against it. Summers looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. It seemed like Cooper was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Summers dips down and scores with a jab to the body. A big left from Cooper misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Summers connects with a good right hand that stumbles Cooper. Cooper circles away out of range and recomposes himself. The fight stays on the outside here - Cooper looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Summers lands with an overhand left. Summers throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Cooper drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Summers defends it well. Summers stuffs the takedown. It looks like Summers has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him. Cooper misses with the combination.
Cooper takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. A momentary lapse in concentration from Cooper enables Summers to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Cooper manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Cooper scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Summers tries to move into range but Cooper moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Summers cracks Cooper with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Cooper throws a jab when Summers was well out of range. Summers avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Summers with a nice head shot there. Summers stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cooper swivels though and keeps the full guard. Summers with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Cooper has momentary wrist control but Summers slips an elbow through the middle. Summers is in close to Cooper's body, working some short punches and elbows. Summers with a nice head shot there. Summers connects with a couple of short punches.

That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Cooper's guard. Cooper tries to roll over but Summers keeps him under control. Summers tries to pass the half guard into mount. Cooper knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Summers looks to score some points with some ground and pound. D B Cooper has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Summers moves into full mount! Cooper won't be happy about that! Summers with shots to the head and body - Cooper looks very uncomfortable down there. Cooper bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Cooper with a flurry of punches that miss.

He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Summers is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Summers in particular looking to stall. Cooper is trying to stand back up but Summers is controlling him
And that's the end of the fight! Scott Summers showed his dominance in that final round. Well Summers has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
