Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Al Briscoe (ranked 6068 p4p, 24995 weight class) and Jim Beam (ranked 590 p4p, 714 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Al Briscoe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jim Beam! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Steve Erwin and Ben Watson.

Briscoe decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Beam wants to get back to full guard. Beam wants to control but Briscoe is keeping busy.
Briscoe wants to free his trapped foot but Beam is holding on for dear life with his legs. Beam is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Beam avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Briscoe. Beam is trying to control but can't.

Briscoe definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Beam is trying to control but can't.
Briscoe knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Beam on the ground. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Briscoe lands a nice short elbow. Beam works his way to full guard. Good work. Briscoe has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Beam manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Briscoe manages to get himself to full guard.

We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Briscoe tries to get out of the position. Beam throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Briscoe works some decent striking defense from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Briscoe can't keep his opponent in guard - Beam advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Beam scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Beam throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Briscoe is refusing to be controlled, as Beam sits in half guard. Nice strikes from Beam there. Briscoe avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Beam. Briscoe is pressing down on Beam's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Beam is looking to work some ground and pound but Briscoe has wrist control. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Beam accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Beam postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Beam advances position into side control! Beam has knee on belly and moves into mount. Beam lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Beam is landing with some decent strikes but Briscoe is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Beam looking to finish with strikes here!

Briscoe is looking to get to half guard. Beam cracks Briscoe with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Briscoe is trying to stand. Beam thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Briscoe is bucking up trying to escape but Beam cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Beam throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Beam landing strikes from the mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Beam thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Beam lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Briscoe is rocked!
It looks like Al Briscoe has been cut. Beam is in full mount looking to finish with strikes. He lands a big shot, followed by another and Briscoe goes limp! The ref jumps in to end the fight - a big win for Beam!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Jim Beam! Jim Beam decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
