Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Brad Betts (ranked 7337 p4p, 4683 weight class) and Elton Edler (ranked 523 p4p, 425 weight class). Betts comes to the cage accompanied by xcape . Elton Edler is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Brad Betts! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Elton Edler! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Tarja Halkonen and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Edler dodges the punch combination from Betts.
Betts looks to land a combination but Edler avoids it well. Betts misses with the combination.
Edler wants to counter with a clinch but Betts pushes him away. Betts with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Betts tests Edler's chin there with a solid looking shot. Betts works the jab nicely. Betts swinging wildly here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Betts forces Edler back against the cage and clinches. Edler drags the fight down to the ground.
Edler working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Betts doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Betts manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Edler not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Edler will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Betts won't allow Edler to sweep him here. Edler looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Edler is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Edler pulls Betts in close to his closed guard and prevents Betts from doing any damage or advancing position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Edler looking to hit a scissor sweep but Betts is one step ahead there. Edler looking for a guillotine here but Betts defends easily.

Edler tries to land a sweep but no joy. Betts has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Edler looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Betts postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Edler pulls Betts in close to his closed guard and prevents Betts from doing any damage or advancing position. Edler looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Edler tries to land a sweep but no joy. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Edler is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Edler is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Betts defends well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Elton Edler dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Betts throws a shot to the body.

Edler looking to slow down the pace here. Edler tries to pull guard but Betts forces him back to his feet, against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Brad Betts has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Elton Edler. Edler escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
That's one minute gone in the round. Edler is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Betts. Betts really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Betts works over Edler's head and body with a nice combination. Edler shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Betts but Betts pushes him off and we're back to square one. Edler throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Betts's waist but Betts gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Edler off to one side. Betts goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Edler dives in for a single leg takedown but Betts sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Betts clinches. Betts taking a break, stalling in the clinch.

Edler throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Betts's waist but Betts gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Edler off to one side. Betts throws a combination. Edler tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Brad Betts is winning the standup battle so far. Betts bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Betts scores with a decent looking hook. Betts jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Betts tried to score with a low kick but Edler checks it. Betts takes the fight into the clinch. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Betts creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Edler wants to break the clinch but can't.
A left hand lands to the body for Edler.

Betts defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Edler. We've been told by Betts's head coaches at BAK training that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Betts closes the distance and lands a one-two. Brad Betts is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. A nice leg kick from Betts, right into the meat of the thigh.

Betts's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Betts looks to land a combination but Edler avoids it well. And Edler tries to counter it with a takedown but Betts pushes his down on his head and steps out. Edler looks for a takedown but Betts sprawls well. A left and a right from Betts both land. Nice combination. Betts checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Edler throws a low kick but it's checked well by Betts. Edler tries to move into range but Betts moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Edler drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Betts defends it well. Betts defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Edler. Betts throws a right and a left that both miss. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Edler shoots in and drives through. Betts sprawls well. Betts throws a right and a left that both miss. Edler circles away from the clinch attempt.
Edler on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Edler tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Edler. Edler doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Betts moves into the clinch. Betts is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Brad Betts dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round! Betts misses with a double jab.
Betts is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Edler can do to turn this around? Betts misses with a jab, cross combination.
Edler feints the counter takedown. Betts's jab looks to have found its range, popping Edler under the eye. Betts lands with a cross. Edler tries to close the distance and clinch but Betts swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Brad Betts seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Edler tries to clinch but fails miserably and Betts counters with a left and a right that stings Edler. Edler looks to score with a jab to the body but Betts is just out of range. Betts stalks Edler and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Edler's face. Edler staggers backwards, shaken. Betts misses with a leg kick. Edler changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Betts tries to avoid it but Edler manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Betts to the ground. Betts escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Betts scores with a decent looking hook. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Edler fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Betts went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Edler fails with a takedown attempt. Brad Betts has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Elton Edler. Edler walks into a straight right hand from Betts. Betts is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Betts closes the distance and pushes Edler back into the cage. Betts manages to break the clinch.

and Betts counters with a nice body shot. Edler gets tackled into the cage by Betts. Betts maintains the clinch. Edler misses with some punches.

Edler wants to clinch up but Betts keeps it at a distance. Edler throws a front kick aimed at Betts's knee but Betts avoids it well. Edler drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Edler is trying to get an arm triangle but Betts is defending well. Betts on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Betts tries to get out of the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Edler in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Betts prevents Edler from improving position. The ground and pound from Edler seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Betts is not content to let Edler control the position. Edler works to advance to full mount. Betts defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Betts blocking the ground and pound. Edler is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Betts can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Edler thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Edler controlling his opponent. Edler working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Edler can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Betts is looking to escape. Betts trying desperately to get to his feet.
Edler punching from mount but Betts doing a good job of avoiding damage. Edler thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

And that's the end of the fight! Brad Betts showed his dominance in that final round. I think Betts has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
