Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Island King (ranked 5477 p4p, 4773 weight class) and Ellis Rowards (ranked 575 p4p, 534 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Island King! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ellis Rowards! The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Bart Greer and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rowards bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. As King backs off Rowards throws a huge counter combo but King manages to avoid it all. Nice shot lands for King. King drops Rowards with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Rowards looks back up at him and smiles so King waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Rowards is rocked! King swinging wildly here.
Rowards is still on wobbly legs! Can King finish him? We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! King throws a lazy uppercut
and Rowards counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Rowards. King can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Rowards controls the pace. Rowards seems to have recovered his senses. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rowards wants to pass the guard but King is keeping the position. Rowards content to stall in guard here. Rowards stands and steps away. King gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

King changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Rowards throws a sloppy head kick and King moves out of range easily. King swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Rowards slips under a jab from King. King throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Rowards counters with a two punch combo. King misses with a two punch combination.
Rowards looks like he wants to counter punch here. King waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Rowards. Rowards wants to clinch. King definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

and Rowards counters with a shoot takedown. King fights it but they end up in guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! King wants to control but Rowards passes easily into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Rowards with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. King looking for submissions off his back. Still in half guard, Rowards seems content to control. Rowards moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from King.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. King is being controlled here. Rowards stands up. Rowards throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. King was covering up waiting for the punch and Rowards finishes the takedown easily into guard. King avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Island King will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Rowards looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Rowards gets to his feet. King looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Rowards shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Rowards is pressing down on King's thigh, looking to free his foot. King is holding on for now. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. King actively working from the bottom here. Rowards wants to free his trapped foot but King is holding on for dear life with his legs. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. King wants to get back to full guard. King is working hard here to advance position. King looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Rowards is trying to work for a kimura but King is defending well.
Rowards is nestled in close to King, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. King scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Rowards manages to mount him!

Rowards looking to control and managing it successfully. King tries to reverse the position but Rowards maintains control. Rowards lands a heavy elbow. King is trying to escape the mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rowards has been the more effective fighter overall so far. King is bucking up trying to escape but Rowards cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Rowards controlling his opponent. Rowards is continuing to stall. Rowards jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… King is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by King and Rowards has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rowards scoring with punches from side control. Rowards stands up. King lunges at Rowards with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Rowards's hand. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Rowards has closed the distance and engaged King in a clinch.
King throws a punch but it's blocked by Rowards. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ellis Rowards showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round! Rowards misses with a body shot.
King feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Rowards sprawling to the canvas! Rowards rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can King finish him?!
Island King is winning the standup battle so far. Rowards falls off balance throwing a combination
and King counters with a big right hand! Oh Rowards is in trouble here! King follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!
