PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Anderson Silva (ranked 4312 p4p, 6271 weight class) and Strike Spar (ranked 500 p4p, 595 weight class). Silva comes to the cage accompanied by Billie jean . Strike Spar will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

Silva walks into a left hand.

Silva feints and as Spar raises his hands in defense, Silva changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Spar can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Silva controls the pace.
Silva has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Silva thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Silva drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Silva jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Silva postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Spar is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Silva , into his guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Silva is on top in guard.

Silva drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Silva seems to have locked his on tight now - Spar screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Silva , as he picks up the win!

A relieved looking Anderson Silva thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
