Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kris Jakua (ranked 1786 p4p, 5703 weight class) and Hajimaro Fujinuma (ranked 114 p4p, 241 weight class). Fujinuma has chosen Yooooooooo as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kris Jakua!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Hajimaro Fujinuma!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Patrick Alders and Albert Achterberg.

Fujinuma throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jakua's waist but Jakua gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Fujinuma off to one side.

and Jakua cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Fujinuma takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Jakua lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Hajimaro Fujinuma seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Fujinuma tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jakua paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Fujinuma is trying hard to land a takedown here. Jakua sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
As Fujinuma looks to move away, Jakua throws a big counter combo but Fujinuma just gets out of the way.
Kris Jakua has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hajimaro Fujinuma.

Jakua wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Jakua looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Fujinuma shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Fujinuma showed some decent athleticism there.

Fujinuma doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Fujinuma tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jakua swivels and escapes.
Kris Jakua is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

and Jakua counters with a nice uppercut.
Jakua moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Fujinuma changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jakua tries to avoid it but Fujinuma manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jakua to the ground. Jakua escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Jakua connects with a crisp jab.
Jakua is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Jakua lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Jakua bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Jakua lands with a hook. Fujinuma tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Fujinuma takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Jakua jabs Fujinuma to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Jakua comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Fujinuma takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Jakua wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Fujinuma shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Jakua defends it nicely.
Fujinuma is still on wobbly legs! Can Jakua finish him?
Jakua lands a right hook to the body.
Fujinuma seems to have recovered his senses.
Jakua throws a combination. Fujinuma tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Jakua thuds a left hand into Fujinuma's body.

and Jakua counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Jakua throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Fujinuma's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Jakua dives in looking to finish as Fujinuma flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Jakua's strikes! Jakua is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Fujinuma's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Fujinuma was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kris Jakua!
During a confident post fight interview, Kris Jakua thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
