Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nicolas Kapers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Urijah Gonzaga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gonzaga has chosen Hypnotize as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nicolas Kapers! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Urijah Gonzaga! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Luis Engracia and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kapers drives through with a takedown into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gonzaga can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Kapers controls the pace. Kapers trying to control the position from guard on top but Gonzaga is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Gonzaga wants to sweep but no luck. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kapers trying to control but Gonzaga is working from the bottom. Gonzaga looking for a sweep. Not yet Gonzaga, not yet. Kapers drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kapers jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Gonzaga throws some shots to the body, keeping his opponent honest.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Gonzaga will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Gonzaga clinches up against the cage. Gonzaga manages to break the clinch.
Kapers fails to land the takedown. Gonzaga throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kapers will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Kapers takes a kick to the side of the head. Urijah Gonzaga is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Kapers avoids a punch combination nicely.
A shot to de liver by Gonzaga. Beautiful body shot. Kapers checks a leg kick. Kapers scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Kapers will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Kapers is looking to take a break and control but Gonzaga is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Gonzaga is looking for a sweep. Gonzaga sneaks back into half guard. Gonzaga is defending against the submission attempts here by Kapers.
Kapers is breathing heavily. Gonzaga throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Kapers looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Kapers is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Gonzaga is just riding it out for now. Kapers eventually gives up the hold. Gonzaga is looking to improve his position.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Kapers checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Gonzaga tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Kapers fails with the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nicolas Kapers. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kapers misses with a takedown attempt - Gonzaga sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kapers tries for a takedown but Gonzaga sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Gonzaga stuffs the takedown attempt from Kapers. Kapers gets slowly back to his feet. Urijah Gonzaga seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kapers scores with a takedown into Gonzaga's guard. Kapers works a leg free and moves into half guard. Kapers trying to control the action but Gonzaga is working from the bottom. Kapers tries to pass the half guard into mount. Gonzaga knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Kapers is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Gonzaga is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Kapers has latched onto it... Big trouble! Kapers pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Gonzaga is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Kapers!
