Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ace Leon (ranked 2809 p4p, 3297 weight class) and Drake Johnson (ranked 373 p4p, 425 weight class). Ace Leon has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ace Leon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Drake Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Nard Betker and Paulsen Ambrosius.

Johnson works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Johnson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Leon is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Johnson to keep the fight standing.
Johnson works on Leon's body with a couple of short punches.
We've been hearing reports that Leon has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Johnson tries to break the clinch but Leon is controlling the position.

Johnson looks to land a left hand but Leon moved out of range nicely.

Leon changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Johnson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Johnson can do anything to dispel that myth.
The ground and pound from Leon seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Leon tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Leon has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Leon has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Johnson is working to avoid the ground and pound but Leon connects with a decent elbow.
Leon cracks Johnson with a big right hand but Johnson just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Johnson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Leon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Leon lands a decent elbow from side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Johnson wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Leon lands a few punches from side control.
Leon cracks Johnson with a big right hand but Johnson just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Johnson wants to control but Leon postures up.
Johnson is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Johnson takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Ace Leon will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Leon looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Johnson is fending him off so far but Leon persists. Nope, Johnson circles away and we're back to standing.
Johnson blocks a low kick nicely.
Drake Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Leon tries to clinch but Johnson is having none of it.
It seemed like Johnson was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

and Leon decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Johnson's guard.

Leon drops back looking for a leg! Johnson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Johnson manages to kick Leon off! Leon jumps back into Johnson's guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Leon scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Johnson is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Leon can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:53 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ace Leon!
An out of breath Ace Leon thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
