Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Carl Brooks (ranked 787 p4p, 780 weight class) and Darren Weeks (ranked 102 p4p, 101 weight class). Brooks comes to the cage accompanied by Eminem - Phenomenal. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Carl Brooks! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Darren Weeks! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Matheus Silva and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brooks takes one on the button. Weeks with a hook. Weeks gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Brooks. Brooks moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Weeks avoids a lazy jab quite easily. The fighters circle momentarily. Brooks darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Darren Weeks seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Weeks misses with a jab, cross combination.
Brooks has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Crapollas Gym in the buildup to the fight. Weeks waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Brooks. Weeks showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Brooks.

Weeks let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Brooks darts in and out, connecting with a jab. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Weeks is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Brooks's half guard. Weeks throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Brooks avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Weeks. Brooks has hold of Weeks's hands but Weeks slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Weeks has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Brooks pushes Weeks off looking to stand but Weeks dives back in and keeps control.
Brooks trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Weeks sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Brooks defending well though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Weeks thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Brooks is looking to escape. Weeks throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Brooks manages to escape and get back to his feet! Weeks avoids the head kick by Brooks.
Brooks lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Weeks avoids the head kick by Brooks.
Brooks throws a sloppy head kick and Weeks moves out of range easily. A combination from Weeks does no damage. And Brooks counters with a quick kick to the body but Weeks blocks it. Weeks shoots in for a double leg but Brooks sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Brooks with a nice cross. Weeks avoids the body shot from Brooks.
Weeks misses with an uppercut. Weeks fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Weeks misses with a head kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Weeks tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Brooks was well out of range. Poor timing from Weeks.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nice takedown defense from Brooks. No joy for Weeks on that attempt. Carl Brooks has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Darren Weeks. Weeks tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Brooks defends well and Weeks ends up having to push Brooks into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Weeks looks winded! Brooks throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Weeks moves forwards but Brooks connects with a nice, crisp jab. Brooks lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Brooks rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Weeks moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Brooks misses with a body kick. Brooks slaps away a takedown attempt from Weeks, before circling back to the center of the mat. Weeks tries for a takedown but Brooks circles away easily and Brooks counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Brooks lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Weeks is rocked! Brooks lands with a kick to the ribs.
Weeks is still on wobbly legs! Can Brooks finish him? Brooks tries a head kick but it misses.
Weeks seems to have recovered his senses. Brooks throws a sloppy head kick and Weeks moves out of range easily. Weeks with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Brooks to score with a decent uppercut.
That's three minutes gone in the round. No luck with that takedown attempt from Weeks. A left and a right from Brooks both land. Nice combination. Brooks uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Weeks. Brooks throws an overhand right that lands on Weeks's shoulder, as Weeks tries to avoid the shot. Jab from Brooks. Weeks clinches up against the cage. Brooks is trying to push Weeks away but Weeks has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Brooks breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Weeks misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Weeks throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Weeks on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Weeks with a poor takedown and Brooks counters with a stiff right hand. Brooks avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Weeks fails to land the takedown. Brooks swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Weeks. A punch combination from Brooks misses. Brooks with a jab. Brooks with a hook. Weeks avoids the head kick by Brooks.
Brooks moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromWeeks. A swing and a miss from Weeks. Brooks is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Weeks connects with the punch. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Weeks shoots in but no luck this time. Brooks scores with a hook. Brooks swinging wildly here.

Carl Brooks dominated that round. That's time! Brooks's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Weeks fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Brooks is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Weeks can do to turn this around? Weeks takes one to the side of the head.
Brooks uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Weeks. Brooks goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Brooks lands a front kick. Weeks fails with a takedown attempt. A right-left combo lands from Brooks. Brooks keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Carl Brooks has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Darren Weeks. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Brooks moves into range and connects with a jab. Weeks misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

A little jabbing left from Weeks on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Brooks moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

and Brooks counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Weeks is lucky that one didn't land flush. Carl Brooks is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Whack! Brooks lands a heavy head kick that drops Weeks. The ref tackles Brooks to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Weeks was done.
