Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Shelby (ranked 2901 p4p, 5187 weight class) and Shawn Michaels (ranked 401 p4p, 575 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Shawn Michaels was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Michaels throws a right and a left that Shelby avoids nicely.
We've been hearing reports that Shelby has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Shelby lands a jab to the nose.
Michaels avoids a punch combination nicely.
Shelby displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Michaels throws out the jab.
Shelby scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Shelby feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Michaelss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Shelby looks for the body kick but Michaels saw that one coming.

The fighters circling - Michaels throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Shelby connects with a body shot.
Michaels lands a big right hand that sends Shelby crashing to the mat! Michaels stays standing though and waves Shelby back to his feet!

Shelby will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Oh Shelby is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Michaels throws an overhand right that lands on Shelby 's shoulder, as Shelby tries to avoid the shot.
Shelby misses with an attempted mid kick.
Shelby seems to have got his legs back now.
Shelby bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Shelby gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Michaels gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Shawn Michaels!
A very excited looking Shawn Michaels made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
