Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jose Valdez (ranked 1537 p4p, 2257 weight class) and Bill Hilly (ranked 209 p4p, 299 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Valdez might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Pump it up. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bill Hilly!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Michael Johnstone and Winston Alpacca.

Valdez takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Hilly throws a lazy uppercut
and Valdez counters with a big head kick but Hilly shrugs it off.
Hilly fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Valdez looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

enabling Hilly to counter with a crisp jab.
Valdez connects with a leg kick.
Valdez lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Hilly's coach down at Armored Fitness & Sparring was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Hilly's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Hilly fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Valdez on the side of the head.
Valdez lands a high kick!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hilly fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Valdez misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Hilly avoids the head kick by Valdez.
Valdez has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Hilly finds it's way round the side to connect with Valdez's head.
Hilly works Valdez's body with a nice hook.
Hilly scores with a punch to the head.
Hilly scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Valdez doesn't seem bothered though.

Hilly cracks Valdez with an uppercut from hell and Valdez crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Hilly's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!

Valdez is rocked!

Hilly tries to stand but Valdez is controlling from the bottom.
Oh Valdez is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hilly loads up on a big left hand. Valdez felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Hilly looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Valdez can't hide his disappointment, as Hilly celebrates the victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bill Hilly!
