Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Perdue Willshire (ranked 21244 p4p, 5556 weight class) and Craig Bannister (ranked 638 p4p, 528 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 21 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Perdue Willshire! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Craig Bannister! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Wesley Smith and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Willshire throws a series of punches but Bannister avoids them all with ease. Bannister stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bannister wants it to stay on the feet. Bannister drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Willshire wriggles free and stands up. Bannister tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. The fight stays on the outside here - Bannister looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Willshire gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Willshire has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Bannister has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bannister's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. We've been hearing reports that Willshire has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Good standup being displayed there by Bannister as he connects with a hook.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bannister pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Willshire walks into a jab. Bannister closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Willshire's guard. Willshire has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Bannister has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. Bannister trying to land knees to the body.
Bannister has clasped his hands together around Willshire's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Bannister is looking to take a break and control but Willshire is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Bannister in the domination position with Willshire hanging on. Willshire manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Willshire has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Bannister is on him like a limpet, forcing Willshire back against the cage. Bannister successfully pulls guard.
Bannister is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Willshire defends well. Willshire postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Willshire thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Bannister tries to land a sweep but no joy. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bannister looking to control.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Bannister is trying to control the position but Willshire postures up. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bannister can do anything to dispel that myth. Willshire passes Bannister's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Willshire is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Bannister looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Willshire drops an elbow to the side of Bannister's head. Willshire seems to be working for a kimura but Bannister defends the submission attempt. Bannister tries to get to full guard but Willshire has control of the leg.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Willshire is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Bannister is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
