PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ludenko Ogirko (ranked 4772 p4p, 3145 weight class) and Joe Joe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Joe Joe!

Ogirko throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Joe.

Joe shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Joe is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Ogirko wants to improve his position but Joe is controlling well.

Joe is taking a breather. Ogirko says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Joe takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Joe tries to pass to full mount but Ogirko defends it.
Joe looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ogirko with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Joe is taking a breather. Ogirko says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Joe cracks Ogirko with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Joe is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Ogirko is surviving well by controlling Joe's body position as best he can.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Joe cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Ogirko wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Joe.
Joe takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Joe throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Let's hope that Joe has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Joe is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Ogirko is defending well though. Joe let's go of the attempt for now.

Joe has his foot on Ogirko's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ogirko works his way back into a safe position though.
