The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Dirk Anderson and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jones throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Johnson tries to clinch there but Jones circles away.
Jones tries to work over Johnson's front leg with a kick but Johnson checks it.

Jones clinches up with Johnson and pushes him back against the cage.

Johnson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Jones drives through with a takedown into guard.
Jones is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Jones stops Johnson from standing up.
Johnson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jones on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Johnson trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Johnson tries to clinch but Jones is having none of it.

Jones should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Johnson is trying to break the clinch but Jones has him pressed against the cage.

Jones is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Johnson looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Jones feints and as Johnson raises his hands in defense, Jones changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Jones decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Steven Johnson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Johnson throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Jones's head.
Johnson moves in looking to clinch but Jones pushes him off.

Johnson comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Jones looking to score a takedown here. Johnson is defending well but Jones drives through and ends up in Johnson's guard.
Jones is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Let's hope that Jones has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Jones working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Johnson's head.
Johnson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Jones is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Skylar Jones dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Jones closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Johnson did well to prevent Jones getting side control.
Jones has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Jones moves into full mount! Johnson won't be happy about that!
You get the feeling that Johnson really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Jones controlling his opponent.

Johnson defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Jones.
Jones landing strikes from the mount and Johnson is in trouble!

Jones tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Johnson is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Jones has taken his back!
Johnson is trying to stand back up.

Can Johnson hold on?! Jones is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Jones is cranking Johnson's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Johnson! He's tightened the choke and Johnson is tapping out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Skylar Jones!
Steven Johnson was interviewed post fight and said 'I tried my best and my best wasn't enough'.
