This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of London, with a TWGC record of 3 wins and 1 losses; Hugo Boss! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 7 wins and 6 losses; Ricco Torres!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, George Francis and Daniel Franklin.


Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious?

Torres drives through and clinches with Boss against the ropes.

Torres jumps guard and drags Boss to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Boss trying to control the position from guard on top but Torres is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Boss stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Torres swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Boss is working hard here to advance position.
Boss wants to control from the top but Torres keeps moving.
Boss has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Boss advances to half guard.
Torres is trying to maintain the position but Boss is very close to passing his half guard.
Boss tries to pass to full mount but Torres defends it.
Torres felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Torres is looking to improve his position.
Boss perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Boss trying to control from half guard but Torres is working away.
Torres wants to control but Boss is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Torres is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Torres gets full guard.

Torres working a defensive guard but Boss passes into half guard.
Boss wants to lay and pray for a moment but Torres keeps working.
Boss is taking a breather. Torres says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Boss seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Torres for as long as he can get away with.
Torres trying to control but Boss postures up.

Torres is not content to let Boss control the position.
Torres tries to roll over but Boss keeps him under control.
Torres controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
Boss is just content to waste time from the top position. Torres takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Torres is pulling down on Boss's head to control his posture.
Torres keeping moving, preventing Boss from controlling successfully.

Boss trying to control but Torres is working from the bottom.

Torres tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Torres is pulling down on Boss's head to control his posture.
Torres controls Boss momentarily but Boss frees himself.
Torres is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Boss preventing the sweep.
Torres keeping moving, preventing Boss from controlling successfully.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Torres trying to keep a closed guard but Boss is proving a slippery customer.
Torres looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Boss is fighting to break Torres's control of his arms but Torres is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Torres looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Boss puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Torres is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Boss tries to pass to full mount but Torres defends it.
Boss prevents Torres from improving his position.

Torres looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Torres has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Boss is working away from the top position though.
Boss frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Torres is working to get back to half guard.
Torres is just holding on here. Boss manages to take his back.

Boss trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.

Torres really must keep his cool here. He's controlling one of Boss's hands and whilst he does that, he's got a chance of escaping the position.
A lull in the action here.

Torres is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Boss gets his way!
Boss tries to keep control of the position but Torres is staying busy.

That's thirteen minutes gone in the round.
Boss is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
Torres wants to control his opponent's hands but Boss gets his hands free.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Boss's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Boss controlling well, preventing Torres from escaping the position.
Torres trying to control the hands but Boss breaks the grip.
Boss is trying to control but Torres is trying to escape here - he's now mounted.
Torres tries to hold on but Boss postures up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Torres reaches up to try and control the position but Boss seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Torres rolls and tries to escape and now Boss has his back!

Boss takes the fight on points by 9 to 0.
A less than humble Hugo Boss misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
