Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 31 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Michael Brakeley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 23 - 20 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tony Monteiro! The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brakeley throws a leg kick and Monteiro counters with a nice uppercut. Monteiro has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Monteiro takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
It looks like Tony Monteiro has been cut. Monteiro takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Brakeley changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Brakeley scores with the left hand. Monteiro knows he should have avoided that one. Brakeley misses with a double jab.
Monteiro looks like he wants to counter punch here. Brakeley throws a right hand that Monteiro ducks under and follows up with a left that Monteiro also avoids with ease. A countering left hand to the body from Monteiro misses. Brakeley rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Monteiro counters with a straight right hand. A jab from Brakeley misses. Monteiro blocks a leg kick. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Monteiro showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Brakeley.

A little jabbing left from Monteiro on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
That's one minute gone in the round. Monteiro uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Brakeley. Brakeley ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Monteiro moves away. Brakeley swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Monteiro looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Brakeley with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

and Monteiro counters with a right hand that sends Brakeley tumbling to the canvas! Can Monteiro finish him? He dives into Brakeley's guard looking to do just that! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Monteiro stands and steps away. Brakeley gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Brakeley misses with an uppercut. Brakeley lands with a thumping leg kick.

Brakeley is breathing heavily. Brakeley is aggressively charging in as Monteiro backs up avoiding any damage. Monteiro tosses out a jab and Brakeley runs right into it face first! Brakeley is out cold! Monteiro dropped down on all fours and is barking in Brakeley's face like a pit bull in celebration until the ref was finally able to pull him away!
