PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between James Darren (ranked 264 p4p, 212 weight class) and Arjan Bhullar (ranked 39 p4p, 29 weight class). Darren comes into the arena with Here's to the losers blaring out of the sound system. Bhullar has chosen Daniel Cormier - All About That Cake as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 31 - 16 - 1, fighting out of New York, Arjan Bhullar!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Shigeki Sano and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bhullar fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Bhullar moves in looking to clinch but Darren pushes him off.
A quick step to the side and Darren tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bhullar is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Darren can't fight it off and eventually Bhullar manages to take the fight to the floor. Darren looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Bhullar, as that shot connected.
Bhullar ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Bhullar feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Darrens jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Darren slips under a jab.
Darren appears to be looking for a big counter.
Bhullar jabs Darren right on the nose. Darren blinks but takes it well.

Darren clinches up with Bhullar and pushes him back against the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Darren digs a right hand into Bhullar's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Bhullar's gas tank.
Bhullar tries to work over Darren's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
