Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ryu Aokison (ranked 763 p4p, 705 weight class) and Speva Koso (ranked 123 p4p, 114 weight class). Aokison comes to the cage accompanied by Caroline. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 26 - 23 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ryu Aokison! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 24 - 14 - 3, fighting out of Las Vegas, Speva Koso! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Percy O'Donnell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Aokison misses with a body shot.
Aokison connects with a looping right hand.
Aokison displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Koso throws out the jab. Aokison thows a left - swing and a miss! Koso throws a jab when Aokison was well out of range. Aokison avoids the body shot from Koso.
Aokison drops down looking for a counter takedown but Koso sprawls and moves away. Aokison seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Aokison moves out of range of the body kick from Koso.
Koso connects with a solid leg kick. Aokison waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Koso. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Koso throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Aokison fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Koso takes a swing at Aokison's ribcage but misses. Aokison changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. We've been informed that Koso has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. A telegraphed right hand from Koso misses the target. Koso swings and misses with a hook to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Koso throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Aokison fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Aokison scores with a nice right hand.

A low kick from Koso misses and Aokison counters with a single leg into guard. Koso didn't expect that. Aokison landing some decent shots from guard. Aokison throws a big elbow that misses. Koso seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Koso looking to control.
Aokison wants to control from the top but Koso keeps moving. Koso not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Koso wants to sweep but no luck. Koso keeping moving, preventing Aokison from controlling successfully. Aokison with a flurry of punches that miss. Aokison connects with a couple of short punches. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Aokison advances position into side control! Aokison swings around for an armbar but Koso sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Aokison's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Aokison is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Koso is aware though and is defending well. Koso postures up.
Aokison is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Aokison will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Koso wants to control from the top but Aokison keeps moving. Aokison has control of Koso's left arm, preventing Koso from doing any damage. Aokison looking to control.
Aokison has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Koso can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Aokison has control of Koso's left arm, preventing Koso from doing any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Koso is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Aokison wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Aokison keeping moving, preventing Koso from controlling successfully.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Aokison misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Koso is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Aokison with a body shot. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Koso throws a shot from downtown. Aokison moves away and avoids it. Koso tries to score with a low kick but Aokison moves his leg out of the way. Aokison appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Aokison uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Koso. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Ryu Aokison will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Koso misses with an uppercut. Aokison saw that one coming. Koso takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Koso flicks out a counter leg kick but Aokison steps away. Koso throws an overhand right that lands on Aokison's shoulder, as Aokison tries to avoid the shot. Koso swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Koso misses with a low kick. Speva Koso seems to be getting the better of the standup. Aokison steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Koso. Aokison checks the leg kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A cross from Aokison lands. Koso throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Aokison. Koso stuffs the takedown attempt from Aokison. Aokison gets slowly back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Koso takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Aokison shoots and misses and Koso connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Koso keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ryu Aokison. That's going to take a lot out of him. Koso throws a leg kick that is checked and Aokison decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Koso's guard. Koso keeping moving, preventing Aokison from controlling successfully. Koso is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Aokison wants to improve his position but Koso is controlling well.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Aokison has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Koso is working away from the top position though. Aokison is refusing to be controlled, as Koso sits in half guard. Koso tries to pass the half guard into mount. Aokison knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Aokison is controlling Koso's trapped leg to prevent Koso from advancing to side control. Aokison has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Aokison wants to control but Koso is keeping busy and won't allow it. Koso wants to pass the guard but Aokison is defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Aokison keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Koso seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Aokison moves into full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. A swing and a miss from Koso. Aokison feinted with a counter takedown. Koso stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Aokison. Aokison closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Koso did well to prevent Aokison getting side control. Koso wants to stand back up but Aokison manages to pass into side control.
Koso manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Aokison actively working from the bottom here. Aokison won't allow Koso to pass to mount. Ryu Aokison overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Koso maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Aokison could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Koso has cracked it and Aokison is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Koso!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Speva Koso! Speva Koso very nearly forgot to thank Distinct Label amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you. Ryu Aokison was interviewed post fight and said 'This would not happen in Japan. Pit Bull Development sells the best prodcucts!'.
