PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between De Fagut (ranked 4599 p4p, 3118 weight class) and Konor RatGregor (ranked 420 p4p, 311 weight class). Fagut comes into the arena with coffin black guys blaring out of the sound system. The crowd seem to be enjoying RatGregor's choice of entrance music: Hypnotize Remix. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Konor RatGregor enters the cage!

Fagut tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but RatGregor swivels and escapes.

RatGregor throws a right hand that Fagut ducks under and follows up with a left that Fagut also avoids with ease.

Fagut feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

RatGregor is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Fagut dives into side control.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

RatGregor is looking to stand up but Fagut won't let him.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

RatGregor misses with a combination

and Fagut counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Fagut is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

We've been informed that RatGregor has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
De Fagut overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
RatGregor wants to hit a sweep here but Fagut passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for RatGregor there!

De Fagut decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
Konor RatGregor was interviewed post fight and said 'He's a mad rat terrorist and that's why he beat me'.
